Tiziano Vecellio, or simply Tiziano, was one of the greatest painters in the history of Italian and European art. Great was his influence on contemporaries and disciples for the use of oil colors and for how he captured light on the canvas, managing to characterize the persons he immortalized like no one else had done before him. He was very famous when he still alive, both in Italy and in the major centers of European art. He was a forerunner of the Baroque revolution.
