XXXII Haifa International Film Festival
10 ITALIAN MOVIES AT THE HAIFA FILM FESTIVAL
Haifa, October 15th-24th, 2016
Ten Italian movies will be screened at the XXXII Haifa International Film Festival, one of the most important and representative international film festivals in Israel.
Italy presents some very recent productions, which have already been appreciated by both critics and general public, such as Like crazy by Paolo Virzì, which has the honor to open the Festival, after been selected for the 2016 Cannes Festival; The confessions by Roberto Andò and The last resort by Thanos Anastopoulos & Davide Del Degan both present at Cannes 2016 and both competing in Haifa in the Golden Anchor Competition; Perfect strangers by Paolo Genovese, Premio Donatello 2016 as best movie and best script and best screenplay at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, present in Haifa in the Gala section; Fiore by Claudio Giovannesi and Sweet dreams by Marco Bellocchio, both aslo selected for the 2016 Cannes Festival; A bigger splash by Luca Guadagnino, in the section Double Feature, along with the French original La piscine, and Wordly girl, debout feature of Marco Danieli, directly from the 2016 Venezia Film Festival.
The program includes also the screening of the masterpieces A special day by Ettore Scola and The garden of the Finzi-Contini by Vittorio De Sica
The Italian participation in the Festival, which will close on October 24th, has been organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Haifa.
