Giotto-ritratto_CUT

New series of THREE free lectures on Giotto di Bondone – the prince of modern painters – and his new art, with Dr. Irina Chernetsky, lecturer at the History of Art Department at Tel Aviv University, Schechter Institute, and Beit Berl College. Event in HEBREW, online only. To book and receive the link for the Webex meeting, please fill in the REGISTRATION FORM.

Francesco Petrarca to his friend Giovanni Mandelli, who on his journey from Genoa to Jerusalem, would have stopped in Naples: “If you disembark, don’t miss visiting the king’s chapel [at Castelnuovo], in which the greatest painter of our times, my countryman, has left great monuments of his skill and his genius.” Those Neapolitan masterpieces are lost today, but Assisi, Padova and Florence are “enough” for Dr. Chernetsky to tell us about the genius of someone destined to revolutionize Western art forever. In three episodes.
