For the series “Secret Italy. The Northern art cities”, a lecture by Dr. Efi Ziv, art historian, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Haifa.

Ferrara and Modena | Two cities and two traditions of enlightened rulers, which glorified them with palaces, castles, churches, statues and cultural spaces. The history of the Este family, which ruled Ferrara, and the history of its Jewish community, which has been partially recorded in Visconti’s “The Garden of Finzi Contini”, a 1970 movie based on Giorgio Bassani’s book. In Modena, the impressive 12th century Duomo, the Estense Library and the Ducal Palace.

Dr. Efi Ziv, lecturer, writer and tourist guide, received his Ph.D in Greek Mythology from the University of Louisiana, a B.A. in Art History from the University of Tel Aviv and his M.A. in International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The list of his publications includes Mythology today, The games of the Gods, The Secrets of the Olympian Gods.
