XII Italian Film Festival in Israel, a project of the Italian Cultural Institutes in Haifa and Tel Aviv, with Adamas, Cinecittà and the Israeli cinematheques.
Like every year in spring, the Italian Cultural Institutes in Haifa and Tel Aviv present the best of the most recent Italian cinematographic production and some particularly significant masterpieces from the past.
Cinema Italia 2025 is divided into three chapters: contemporary, with seven films released in Italy over the last year; classical, dedicated to director Mario Monicelli, with seven of his most beautiful works; a final section dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Italy from Nazi occupation and fascist dictatorship, which includes the extraordinary war trilogy by Roberto Rossellini: “Rome, Open City”, “Paisan” and “Germany, Year Zero”.
The festival opens in Haifa and Rosh Pina with the screening of “Diamanti” by Ferzan Ozpetek. Among the films scheduled for the contemporary section, “Madly” by Paolo Genovese, the Italian film nominated for the 2025 Oscars “Vermiglio” by Maura Delpero and “Parthenope” by Paolo Sorrentino.
