Course organized by the Israel Antiquities Authority, the International Conservation Center – Città di Roma, the Italian Cultural Institute in Haifa and the Council for the Conservation of Israel’s National Heritage. With the participation of Prof. Maurizio Tagliapietra, Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona.
From the second half of the nineteenth century, the wooden ceilings of the most luxurious villas of San Giovanni d’Acri were enriched with spectacular painted decorations: baroque frames with geometric patterns and garlands of flowers, landscapes and still lifes. Over time the ceilings have deteriorated and now require specialized conservation measures.
Lecturers:
- Maurizio Tagliapietra – Expert in conservation of painted wooden ceilings and objects, teaching at the Accademia di Belle Arti “Cignaroli”, Verona, Italia.
- Jacques Neager – Director of the Conservation Division of the Israel Antiquities Authority.
