On the occasion of the “First Italian Cuisine Week in Israel”, for the series “The hidden and the visible: the quarters of the Italian cities in the Old City of Akko”: Lecture and guided tour. Lecturer: Dr. Edna Stern.
The aim of this cycle of lectures is to enhance and illustrate the treasures and the artistic heritage of Akko during one of the most fascinating periods in the history of the city, when the maritime republics of Genoa, Venice and Pisa and the Order of the Hospitallers left important archaeological evidences, which are now helping us to understand the lively multi-ethnic and multi-cultural atmosphere of Medieval Akko.
The speakers (archaeologists, architects, engineers and experts in cultural heritage) will introduce the historical and cultural heritage of Medieval Akko through a series of lectures and guided tours to the city’s most significant archaeological sites.
