The last stop on our journey takes us to Puglia, the “heel” of the Italian peninsula. Apulian cultures developed starting from the 9th century BC, as evidenced by numerous archaeological finds including painted ceramics, statuettes, tombstones, which tell of beliefs, customs and other aspects of Apulian civilisations, in close relation with the adjacent Magna Grecia and the Near East.

The series | The Italian peninsula achieved linguistic, artistic, religious and political unity only in the Republican age; before the end of the 6th century BC it was inhabited by various ethnic groups with different beliefs, languages and cultures. In this series of meetings, through the examination of archaeological finds, ancient texts, tomb paintings and works of art, we will learn about the ancient Italic peoples, the evolution of their civilizations and how they influenced each other.
