Vittore Carpaccio, a pupil of Gentile Bellini, became famous for the cycle of the Stories of Saint Ursula. Giorgione, influenced by the Florentine school and by Leonardo da Vinci, painted masterpieces like The Storm directly on the canvas, without using any preliminary drawing.
