In the framework of the cultural program “Italy, Cultures, the Mediterranean” promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, young students from the Faculty of Architecture at the Technion design a “new” home in an old building for the Italian Cultural Institute in Haifa.

The research work behind this exhibition was carried out during the winter semester of 2017-2018 by a group of students from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Technion in Haifa.
The exhibit presents the following outcomes: 1] documentation of a historically characterized architectural site, specifically Villa Ibrahim Halil Pasha; 2] formulation of a cultural evaluation of the site itself and of its urban context; 3] conservation/restoration solutions in compliance with the assigned theme, specifically the hypothetical new headquarters of the Italian Cultural Institute of Haifa.

11 students, 11 projects, 11 models, 11 solutions, all to be discovered and admired.

Event held in Hebrew, English & Italian.

“Italy, Cultures, the Mediterranean” is a cultural program, which the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will implement in the Middle East and North Africa during the year 2018, with the purpose of consolidating the dialogue between the two sides of the Mediterranean Sea. A dialogue based on the exchange and enhancement of different cultural and social identities and the combination of tradition, innovation and creativity.
