Venice, despite being physically "in the Italian boot", remained for centuries a province of the Eastern Roman Empire, of which it also adopted artistic styles, inspired by Greek and Roman traditions, with predominantly religious and/or institutional subjects.
With the loosening of the Byzantine influence and with the birth of the Republic a unique style developed in Venice, later called "Venetian School", which in the works of Bellini, Giorgione, Tiziano, Tintoretto combined beauty, pomp and theatricality with humanism, mystery, supernatural. Tradition that Canaletto and Verenese continued and that reached its peak in the trompe l'oeil and light and colors plays by Giovanni Battista Taipolo.

  • A series of eight lectures. Total cost: 295 NIS. Cost per meeting: 55 NIS.
  • Special price reserved to the students of the IIC in Haifa: 230 NIS for the subscription; 50 NIS for each meeting.
