LA LIBERAZIONE DI RUGGIERO DALL’ISOLA DI D’ALCINA | Chamber Music

For the series The Italian concerts of the Chamber Music Society, a concert by the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, conducted by David Shemer, with the participation of the soloists of the Meitar Opera Studio (The Israeli Opera Tel Aviv), directed by Shirit Lee Weiss. Event organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Haifa.

Program:

  • The first opera ever to be written by a woman: A spectacular stage piece by Francesca Caccini, daughter (and student) of Giulio Caccini Romano, who was a member of the Camerata Florentina and one of the founding fathers of Baroque style in music; including soloists from the Israel Opera’s “Meitar Opera Studio” and directed by Shirit Lee Weiss.
