THE BOOK | How can hope be sustained when war disrupts everyday life? In her latest work of literary reportage, Sandra Manzella brings together the voices and testimonies of people in Israel and the West Bank who continue to create opportunities for dialogue and human connection. Set against the backdrop of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack and the conflicts that followed, the book explores initiatives rooted in social engagement and cultural, ecumenical, and interfaith dialogue. It tells the stories of people who, even in the most difficult circumstances, choose to nurture relationships, foster reconciliation, and give tangible expression to hope through everyday acts.
The book is available to borrow from the Institute’s Library.
THE CONCERT | A musical heritage waiting to be rediscovered, transcending centuries and still resonating today. Ensemble Nuria, an Italian-Israeli musical group, invites audiences on a journey through the Jewish musical tradition, reflecting a centuries-old legacy of cultural exchange, resilience, and hope. Originating centuries ago in the thriving cultural centers of Mantua and Padua, these nearly forgotten melodies are brought to life in a program that reveals their haunting beauty, joy, and spiritual depth. Fresh interpretations illuminate their enduring power and relevance, offering contemporary audiences a unique musical experience and an opportunity for dialogue across cultures and faiths.
