Nine stories about animals: tightrope elephants, snooty cats, wise bears, crafty foxes. Rodari tells us about the animals as he imagines them, very, very human, full of sympathy and full of humour: there is the horse Pegasus, who had been taught to read and helped to discover a light bulb thief; there is a bandit bear, who was causing panic in the woods, eventually captured by a team of wolfdogs. All animals from a zoo which is not a prison but a place of happiness, freedom, and imagination. Reading age: from 4 years.
