42nd Haifa International Film Festival
Six ITALIAN FILMS in the Program | Haifa, 26 September – 3 October 2026
Italian cinema will be represented at the 42nd Haifa International Film Festival (HIFF) by six titles, including Italian productions and international co-productions, offering a particularly diverse overview of recent filmmaking. The selection ranges from family and relationship dramas to comedy, auteur cinema and visual experimentation, bringing together films and performers featured at major international festivals.
The programme will culminate on Saturday, 3 October, with IT WILL HAPPEN TONIGHT (2026), the new film by Nanni Moretti, selected for the Festival’s closing day. An Italian-French-Spanish co-production based on Hungry Heart by Israeli writer Eshkol Nevo, the film stars Louis Garrel and Jasmine Trinca and traces a relationship over fourteen years, marked by encounters, separations and paths crossing again.
Five very different films complete the Italian presence at this year’s Festival:
- ARMONY (2026), directed by Dario Albertini
- THREE GOODBYES (2025), directed by Isabel Coixet
- GOD FORGIVES EVERYONE (2026), directed by Pif
- WANDERING TREES (2026), by Salvatore Mereu
- ROMA ELASTICA (2026), by Bertrand Mandico
The films are screened in their original languages, with Hebrew and English subtitles.
