XIV Italian Language Week in the World.Under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian RepublicTHE ITALIAN PUBLISHING INDUSTRY SEEN BY A TRANSLATOR FROM HEBREW TO ITALIAN: THE EXAMPLE OF DAVID GROSSMANA lecture by Alessandra Shomroni, translator.Within the framework of the XIV Italian Language Week in the World "Writing a new Europe: the Italian publishing industry, the authors and the readers in the digital era" and during the Semester of Italian Presidency of the EU Council, the Italian Cultural Institute in Haifa is pleased to present a lecture by Alessandra Shomroni on "The Italian publishing industry seen by a translator from Hebrew to Italian: the example of David Grossman". Alessandra Shomroni was born in Como and attended there the linguistic high school F. Casnati. In 1981 she moved to Israel and graduated in History and History of the Middle East from Oranim College. She has been translating from Hebrew to Italian since 1996. Shomroni translated into Italian novels by David Grossman, A. B. Yehoshua, Etgar Keret and other Israeli authors. She collaborates with several Italian newspapers (Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, La Stampa), translating for them articles by Israeli writers on topical subject.
