XXXIII Edition of the Ennio Flaiano International Prize for Literature, Cinema, Theatre and Television.


 


Ariel Rathaus, an Italian Israeli scholar, was awarded the Ennio Flaiano Prize (2006 edition) for Italian studies in recognition of his outstanding translation of Giambattista Vico into Hebrew (Shalem Press, 2005). The Italian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv and Haifa submitted Rathaus' curriculum and a recommendation letter to the jury, which is presided over by Jacqueline Risset. Prof. Ariel Rathaus, who is regard a distinguished scholar,  will receive the prize during a cerimony which will take place at the theatre "G. d'Annunzio" in Pescara on July 2nd. This is the first time ever that a Flaiano prize for Italian Studies (which is sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) has been awarded to an Italian-Israeli scholar.(This text appears in English for unfixable problems with the Hebrew letters.
